VinoKarma is the work of Amanda Laden — built on a simple, stubborn belief: the way it has always been done was never built to be magical, so we're not doing it that way.

The story

Amanda spent ten years living abroad and has traveled to more than fifty countries — not as a tourist collecting stamps, but as someone chasing the thing that happens when food, wine, and the right company collide: connection that outlasts the meal. That search became a career. She's sold Champagne at the highest levels of the industry, built and run a wine import and distribution company, and become a certified wine expert, all while refusing to let a single ounce of posture or pretense into the room. She's also the founder of Austin Wine Week, a city-wide celebration of wine that VinoKarma produces every year.

That same search is why Amanda has spent years developing Uncharted, a television pilot built on a simple conviction: every place — every valley, coastline, market stall, and back road — is carrying a story, and you find it the same way every time, through the table, the people, and the terroir. Uncharted isn't a side project. It's the lens VinoKarma runs on: it's why we go to the places most travel brands skip, and why we'd rather sit at a stranger's table for three hours than check a landmark off a list.

Alongside her life in wine, Amanda runs a company where she brings leadership and growth strategy to fast-moving companies, which is exactly why VinoKarma events and consulting work don't just feel beautiful, they work.

What ties all of it together is the same instinct: build the thing that was missing. Do it with more thought, more heart, and more generosity than anyone expects. Leave people better than you found them.

A life outside the glass

When she's not building the next journey or the next event, Amanda is usually somewhere new with her bulldog/poodle mix, Bernie, by her side: still chasing the same thing that started all of this: a life that feels like it's actually hers.
